Web Accessibility is a Human Right
We are excited to announce the launch of overlayfacts.org, a website dedicated to increasing awareness of web accessibility issues. According to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), web accessibility refers to “the inclusive practice of removing barriers that prevent interaction with, or access to, websites by people with disabilities.” Unfortunately, many web users with disabilities are still unable to fully use the web due to barriers like inaccessible digital content, lack of captions for videos, and difficulty navigating sites.
We believe that web accessibility is essential for ensuring that all users have equal access to digital information and tools. We also believe that accessible web design benefits everyone, not just those with disabilities. In addition to increasing awareness of web accessibility issues, Overlay Facts also provides information about digital accessibility tools and resources. We hope that by raising awareness of these issues, we can contribute to making the web a more inclusive place for everyone.
Thanks for joining us on this journey!
